As someone who has always had a passion for cooking and baking, participating in the J-1 TransUSA Exchange program has been an incredible experience for me. My name is Eva Maria, and I am currently interning at the Greenwich Country Club in Connecticut, where I have been able to expand my skills and knowledge in the field of pastry.
I am incredibly grateful for the support of my family and friends, who have encouraged me to pursue my dreams and make the most of this opportunity. And I am equally grateful to the staff and management here at GCC, who have welcomed me with open arms and provided me with an environment where I can learn, grow, and thrive.
One of the things that I have found particularly fascinating is how creative you can be with pastry. Before coming here, I always thought that desserts had to be
super sweet and sugary to be enjoyable. But now I know that there are so many different flavor combinations that you can experiment with – from salty to fruity
to sweet – that can take a dessert to a whole new level. I love the way that all of these flavors come together in each bite, creating a rich and complex taste experience that satisfies both the palate and the soul.
Of course, my experience here at GCC has been made even more enjoyable by the company of my fellow interns. We have become fast friends, bonding over our
shared love of cooking and baking. And we have also been lucky enough to work with a team of supportive and welcoming staff and management who have made
us feel right at home.
As I continue my journey in this program, I am excited to see what else I will discover and learn about the world of pastry. I know that there is still so much to
discover, and I feel incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to pursue my passion in such a supportive and enriching environment.
If you are someone who has always been interested in the culinary arts, I would highly recommend considering a program in the U.S. Not only will it provide you
with the opportunity to work in some of the most prestigious kitchens in the country, but it will also allow you to expand your skills, broaden your horizons, and meet like-minded individuals who share your passion. And who knows – you may just discover a whole new side of yourself that you never knew existed!
